I Would Describe Myself As

I am newly single after a rather lengthy marriage, and the dating world has changed dramatically since I last dated.

I am retired from a career in law enforcement, due to an injury, and now use my time being creative. I carve intricate whimsical houses in cottonwood bark, sculpt and draw caricatures. I have had several political cartoons published in the local newspaper.

I am pretty reserved in person, until we get to know each other, then who knows? I have a diverse sense of humor but I stay away from cruel or over the top humor.
I try to treat everyone as I would like to be treated in the same situation. That trait helped me greatly in my law enforcement career. I got far more cooperation from those I had to deal with in those explosive situations, than some of the officers who didn't care what the suspect, or victim was feeling at the time.

I am currently working on my first novel, though I have been taking a sabbatical while going througe a rather trying time in my life. I hope to get back on the writing soon.

I am a P.K., not just was one. My dad has been a pastor for over 54 years now, but is nearing the end of his vocation as age and health problems are taking their toll on him.

I come from the best family I can imagine, and I consider myself truely blessed!

I am looking for someone who is kind and gentle and not given to a critical and controlling character. I would consider myself fortunate if she is someone who is kind to those less fortunate than herself and looks for the good in others. I think it would be awsome if she laughs easily and has a smile that really reaches her eyes. If she is so touched by the sight of an elderly couple out to dinner while holding hands, smiling and looking into each others eyes, that she can't hide her emotions, I would know that she is a winner in life and in God's eyes.

I know that physical appearances are not the most important thing, but fine looks are a bonus, too.

I have three tremendous children, who currently do not live with me. I would do anything in the world for them...well..anything ethical and moral, anyway. Children who are part of the lady's life would be accepted unconditionally by me as well.

I am not looking for a quick "hook up", whatever that means. I am hoping to find a friend first, who is comfortable with getting to know each other and chatting on line until we both feel it is time to make contact by phone, or in person.
