Me describiría a mi mismo como
I am that girl who is looking for that boy who has not forgotten how to chase after love. Do you remember what it was like to feel on top of the world because someone special, who made your heart race and palms sweat, smiled at you?!
Here is the coles note version of my story: I got divorced 10 years ago and tossed in the towel because I was afraid to try again. Afraid to be hurt, and let down, and heartbroken... Afraid to risk what could go wrong with love. Terrified to let someone love me in case they discovered I wouldn't be enough. But, we all know, living that way-playing it safe-results in misery. I have missed out on knowing how great a man can be when he is given the floor to move and sway and pull me in to dance with him. I have missed on being led, supported, cared for, and appreciated. For simply being me. And I have lost out on the wonder of being pleasantly surprised by how wonderful it can be to share my life with the man who shows up just as he is, and appreciate his kind heart, and gentle support, and strength... So, here I am, ready to love/live/laugh with someone again. Ready to be risk being vulnerable. Ready to share my heart, my life, my dreams...
Dating in the 21st century is like jumping through hoops and going on job interviews for the role of "life partner" and it is seriously daunting. For you. For Me. So, here is my proposal to the kind of man that really gets what I am talking bout here, and can be safely transparent and vulnerable like me: I am looking to take time discovering what my future can look like with someone who has learned to appreciate that life is messy, love is scary and unpredictable, and building a life with someone is risky. But it is the "GREAT" kind of risky, scary, messy... Will you take that risk with me? Jump. Scream if you must; laugh and pray and tremble as we land in a future together.
I am being poetic for sure, because only some will find this worth taking the time to read. Many will jump first to my picture and go from there. If you get this far and can appreciate what I am writing here, then I look forward to hearing from you.
I trust both of us are past playing games, charming accolades, and promiscuous flattery. Because this may add flavour to today, but does not lay a foundation for tomorrow.
I am not here for a hook up. A fling. To flirt. I am here to learn, discover, be challenged, to grow, to open my heart wide. To be myself and invite you to unveil yourself in the same journey.
