My goal in life is to let others see Jesus in me. If I take just a moment and think about the things I own, my dwelling place, the car I drive, the money I have, the possessions I have accumulated, the clothes I have purchased ... simply taking just a quick consensus of all my "stuff" ~ I am reminded of two biblical truths.

First, my "stuff" isn't mine. Any coroner can tell you that no one takes anything with them. When one of the wealthiest men in history, John D. Rockefeller died, his accountant was asked, "How much did John D. Rockefeller leave?" The accountant's reply? "All of it."

All that "stuff" ~ it's not mine. And you know what else about all that "stuff?" It's not ME! Who I am has nothing to do with the clothes I wear or the car I drive. Jesus said, "Life is not defined by what you have, even when you have a lot." (Luke 12:15 MSG). Heaven does not KNOW me as the lady with the nice clothes who has a fancy dwelling place with spoiled kids.
