Portland, Oregon | Man Seeking A Woman
Basic Information
I Would Describe Myself As
Well, I teetered between whether I was marriage minded or looking for wherever God leads. The problem is (if you call it a problem) that I think God is leading me toward marriage... you see the predicament, right?! I guess it's safe to say what I'm ultimately looking for is my soul mate. I know she's out there, I hope that I'll know her when I see her, and who knows, maybe she's on here waiting for me too. When I imagine her, I pretty much see someone who is physically attractive, athletic, intelligent and well educated, sincere, honest, patient, loving, low maintenance and easy going, and (save the best for last) committed to her faith. Age range I guess anywhere from 18 to 25ish.
My faith has changed a lot, especially recently. I was raised pretty much without it, but my mom did her best. She tried to get her boys into it when they were younger, they loudly objected to having their Sundays wasted, so she kind of let them go, knowing that God would call them back in His time. Just after graduating high school, I felt this tugging at my heart, something that was missing. I went on a retreat to Canada with a Young Life group, and, honest to God, it was one of the best weeks of my life to date. I was forever changed on that trip, even though I didn't make the commitment to Christ on that trip (a commitment I would make only a few months later). I have gone through many stages, as I'm sure many maturing, growing Christians have. I have had the moments of elation and joy in which I know the living Christ is right in the room with me, and I've had the kind of devestation that caused me so much turmoil that I wondered how any loving creator could let a follower be crushed so deeply. But I'm still here, and I still believe.
I am a big fan of 1 Corinthians 13:1-13, as are most people. Other than that, I pretty much love anything in red letters. :)
Currently, I'm mostly a student. I do work in West Linn at Pragma Ventures, but I am lucky enough to have a very understanding boss that realizes that school comes first. I spend as much as time as I can there, but with school, it's tough to put in more than 10 to 20 hours each week. I like what I do, but I just don't know what I want to do forever. I guess that also answers the fact that I don't know what my dream job is. I know I'll figure it out, but I believe it'll happen in God's time, not mine.
I went to high school at Lakeridge and then to good old U of O for college. I studied economics, political science, and business administration. I loved every minute of it; college was a true blast for me. It was so much fun that I finished in 3 years and was off to the real world. I worked for a few years and decided I really wanted to get my MBA. I started at U of O in 2007 but hated it (for many different reasons) and decided to transfer to PSU. So far, it's going great and I'm having a ball.
Born and raised in Portland, OR. I said I was never leaving, then I went to Eugene for school and decided I was never going to leave Oregon. Then I immediately left for Virginia as soon as I graduated and loved it. I met life long friends and made amazing relationships that I am confident will last for eternity. Currently, I am in school here, but I don't necessarily think I want to live here. I don't care so much about where I live as who I live with.
I love going to Eastern Oregon. My mom and step dad bought a place there a few years ago and I used to refuse to go. Then I buckled and went once. And I had so much fun with no distractions or busyness or obligations that I couldn't wait to go back. Now I go whenever I possibly can. But my life will be Epic. I know this. And adventure goes with epic. I hope there is someone who can handle me! :)
My goodness, this is probably more information than anyone ever wanted to read about me. I think I can just say that if you have any questions, I am completely open and honest about everything.
